“Sleep with a stranger and save $150!”

“Sleep with a stranger and save $150!” That’s one of the many come-ons used by the white folks who wanted to “reclaim the civil rights ‘moment’” on 8/28/10, the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, to increase their attendance. Seems you saved money if you accepted a roommate at one of the area hotels. Given that everyone would be white, Christian, earning way less than $250,000 (the number being the GOP’s idea of “middle class”), and living in the “heartland”, those roommate assignments were probably pretty risk-free. You’d be sleeping with your socioeconomic doppelganger and saving a cool $150 at the same time. Sweet! Of course, we couldn’t let Glenn Beck’s assault on history and the memory of one of our nation’s heroes go unchallenged.  We’ll be treating you to a Beck vs King “Smackdown.” It’s not quite as peaceful as Dr. King would have wanted, but we simply couldn’t miss the chance to show the gaping divide between Glenn Beck’s beliefs and those of Martin Luther King.

In other news, eggs are really bad for you, and we share with you some compelling reasons to stay the hell away from them. It’s not just factory farmed eggs, which are horrendous for the planet, for our bodies, and of course, for the de-beaked chickens who spend their lives standing in their own muck and on the rotting bodies of the fallen hens who couldn’t take it anymore – it’s all eggs. Just say no.

And another thing that’s no good - the economy – despite billions in profits and zero taxes paid by the corporations who refuse to start hiring again. They’ll spend their bucks on political funding, though – no problem writing big checks to right-wing think tanks, Tea Party candidates, etc… It’s no surprise, then, that the Koch Boys, who have billions to spend, intend to buy their way into power – as the bankroll behind however many GOP and Tea Party candidates they can get into office, and in their creepy, plotting brains, the White House in 2012. These boys think big!

Speaking of which, the polls continue to herald a big GOP victory in the mid-terms, but should we count the Democrats out yet? Maybe people will wake up and realize there’s an “(R)” next to all the crazies and their bizarre, often frighteningly stupid statements. Like the Lieutenant Governor of Tennessee (to whom our final song by Neil Young is dedicated) who believes that Islam isn’t a religion, and therefore Muslims shouldn’t be protected by our Constitution. He thinks Islam is more of an ethnicity than a faith. So if you like that sort of thinking, and don’t fully understand how un-American it really is, well, you just go poke that GOP chad in November. The country we’ll end up with if the GOP does get a majority in one or both houses will curl your hair – and not in a good way. If you don’t believe us – listen to the show and follow our links below for all the spine-tingling evidence you’ll need.

On that cheery note, our attention turns to the Lunatic Fringe - including some news about Facebook, Lady Gaga’s vajayjay, a hideously sexist ad for “Summer’s Eve” in Women’s Day magazine (you’ll be really surprised to find out why you were denied that raise, ladies!), and some shocking sanity (sense?) from the Libertarians. We also share with you the right-wing’s list of the “20 Worst Americans” – in which you find our current President right along with Benedict Arnold and James Earl Jones – er, they meant – James Earl Ray. Nice, you dummies.

You’ll also be interested to find out that strippers in the UK are waaay smarter than ours here in the USA! USA! Who’d have imagined that a superior educational system would give them lap dancers who can also give their customers “a bit of a chat”? So sit back and enjoy – the show. What did you think we meant?
