Back after our Independence Day festivities break, we’re making sense of the absurdities served up this week by all the usual suspects – BP, the Party of No, the wealthiest 2% (a.k.a. The Haves), the pundits – as well as some new ones, including our entrance into the Age of Austerity (stay tuned at the end for our musical tribute), your favorite genetic modifiers – Monsanto – and finally, an explanation for those hallucinations you’ve been having – it’s your diet soda! We’re also giving credit where credit is due, and can happily point to some sense coming out of the GOP. Hey, we strive to literally be fair and balanced, so wipe that shocked expression off your face, or we won’t tell you how Lady Gaga helped a soldier steal military secrets, how long snails sleep, or which famous Christmas carol has a glaring error in it. Ah, ha! Now we’ve got your attention.
Here are the links for this week’s show – go ahead and click while you listen – they’ll open in a new window:

Laurie, I enjoyed the piece on alternative sweeteners for diabetics, agave also has the excellent advantage of being lower on the glycemic index which is important for anyone watching body weight or blood sugar levels.
Don, somatic cells are body cells (as opposed to sex cells/or gametes), not pus. The term “soma”=body. I teach medical terminology.
Another good show, thanks!
